Governor's Conference on Economic Development
Looking for a flexible loan program to help finance your business?
PIERRE, S.D. – The Governor’s Office of Economic Development is reminding fuel retailers to apply for the Ethanol Blender Pump Grant before the August 31 deadline. This grant program is designed to expand the availability of ethanol blends across the state and help retailers install pumps.
The grant offers up to $25,000 per business for the first pump and $10,000 for subsequent pumps. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
“We encourage all eligible fuel retailers to apply for this opportunity to expand their infrastructure and provide more choices to consumers,” said Deputy Commissioner Jesse Fonkert.
South Dakota has implemented a broad initiative to promote ethanol use across the state. Senate Bill 78, effective January 2025, will provide a 5-cent rebate for every gallon of E15 fuel sold. This legislation is designed to boost ethanol consumption and support local agriculture by incentivizing the sale of higher ethanol blends. Complementing this effort, the Ethanol Blender Pump Grant further supports the state’s commitment to expanding ethanol infrastructure and availability.
