South Dakota produces 1.4 billion gallons of ethanol a year. The Governor’s Office of Economic Development’s Ethanol Blender Pump Grant is creating another tool to help South Dakota fuel retailers promote South Dakota’s homegrown energy.
The Ethanol Blender Pump Grant provides gas stations the proper installation of these ethanol blender pumps. Blender pumps allow motorists to select their desired blends of gasoline and ethanol.
The program has been allocated $500,000. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis with an application deadline of August 31, 2024. Businesses may apply for up to $25,000 for the first pump and $10,000 for subsequent pumps. Actual awards will be dependent on the number of applicants.
