PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) Board of Economic Development has approved projects that will contribute more than $419 million in capital expenditures and create 180 full-time jobs across the state.

“South Dakota continues to lead the nation in economic growth, and I’m committed to ensuring our state remains Open for Opportunity,” said Governor Larry Rhoden. “These investments will create new jobs and strengthen our economy for years to come.”

A Reinvestment Payment Program grant of up to $3,386,040 has been approved for Big Stone Energy Storage Project LLC to incentivize the construction and operation of a thermal energy storage facility.

Bel Brands USA has been approved for up to a $2,566,012 Reinvestment Payment Program grant to support a 100,000-square-foot expansion of its Brookings facility.

Dakota Line Energy LLC will receive a Reinvestment Payment Program grant of up to $250,682 to develop a new 23-million-gallon covered lagoon digester and install five manure separators. The project will improve manure management and energy production.

“The growth we’re witnessing in South Dakota is a direct result of the dedication and hard work of businesses investing in our future,” said GOED Commissioner Joe Fiala. “We’re excited to see these projects move forward and contribute to our state’s success.”
